Meditation is a vital practice for anyone on a spiritual journey. In this blog post, we discuss different meditation techniques tailored for those interested in developing their mediumship abilities. By incorporating meditation into your daily & weekly routine, you can increase your spiritual awareness, enhance your connection to the universe, and promote inner peace.
For those of you who are developing your ability as a trance medium, I always advocate two types of meditation:
• Relaxation Meditation - this should be your usual regular meditation, preferably daily, but at least twice a week, sitting peacefully and calmly to relax your body and mind. For this, you can be in 'small mind', focusing on the breath whilst noticing that if your mind wanders off into everyday thought, bringing it back to the breath. Or, you can be in 'big mind', still beginning with focusing on the breath but allowing your mind to move into a more expanded state of consciousness. This practice is for your general wellbeing and to help you transcend the levels of normal mental chatter.
• Connection Meditation - this should be a once or twice weekly meditation at a set time and place with the aim of connecting with your spirit team (or allowing them to connect with you). The meditation process is slightly different here, with the focus on raising your thinking to higher levels through contemplation upon spiritual themes and philsosphical ideas that interest you. You may notice changes in your physiology and mental state, particularly paying attention to any thought flows that may emerge as well as any sensations in the body.
Regular practice will yield results. There are no shortcuts, but by showing commitment to your own inner self and to those in the afterlife who may wish to work with your mediumship, you are setting the foundations for progress.
